Curating connections, developing programmes, and delivering value to economies and communities across the UK

Our vision is to forge meaningful connections between organisations and the communities they inhabit, addressing critical social issues and promoting greater prosperity for all.

Our mission is to harness the power of partnerships and collaboration, fostering innovative and value-rich activities that create new alliances and understandings, ultimately leading to high-impact social and economic outcomes.

How we work

At SIVIC, we initiate in-house projects that leverage partnerships to tackle key social issues at the local level. Additionally, we craft bespoke initiatives for clients, addressing predefined needs and delivering economic, knowledge, and community-based value.

  • We partner with pioneering think tanks, charities, universities, and corporations to identify areas of focus and implement innovative and novel approaches. Our goal is to establish conditions that offer new ways of understanding issues or forming partnerships, enabling opportunities that produce positive outcomes for organisations, communities, and places.

  • We create curated groups or broader ecosystems that align interests and objectives across industry, academia, and the public and third sectors. By designing relationships that leverage partners' expertise, capabilities, and personnel, we align goals and objectives to unlock full benefits, ensuring mutual value for all partners.

  • Collaborating with a network of innovation and impact specialists, we engage directly with individuals with lived experience to broaden and diversify participation in social change and economic development. By building trusted relationships, we facilitate exploration and collaboration, embedding pathways that drive community-led action.

  • Through knowledge exchange, co-creation, and collaboration, we aim to translate exploration into action, unlocking economic and social value. We test and validate assumptions in real-world settings, leveraging innovation budgets and individual capabilities to create sustainable business development opportunities and enhance civic engagement in society.

  • Our work is supported by robust processes and frameworks for data collection, progress monitoring, and outcome measurement. Program ‘white papers’ share insights and outcomes, while data informs future program delivery, policy decisions, evidence of social value, and demonstrates return on investment.

Our Work

SIVIC is a consultancy with a wealth of collective experience across various sectors with significant experience working with corporate, education, public and third-sector organisations creating innovative business outcomes and delivering social value over the past 25 years.  In recent years we have worked with or for:

Experian, Shakespeare Martineau, Santander, Barclays, The Young Foundation, Nottingham Forest Football Club, University of Nottingham, University of Warwick, University of Lincoln, University of Portsmouth, University of Sussex, & University of Gloucestershire.

  • COMING SOON - Initially focusing on Nottingham, the project aims to bring together the data, insights, and perspectives from leading charities and data agencies to develop new understandings of the systemic issues around financial vulnerability among young people. Through engagement with professionals working in the field, and individuals with lived experience, Forging Futures will develop knowledge into actions, that hope to affect the life outcomes of young people and help tackle the barriers to mobility and success.

  • Working with Social Business Development we have delivered two programmes for Barclays Bank, Leading with Purpose and Connecting with Purpose.  Our aim was to bring smaller social businesses and charities that trade creating partnerships that develop organisations and create social value.  By unlocking the capacity and know-how of large organisations, we can create sustainable social change by developing businesses working on the ground to make positive change.  In 2022 we engaged with 50+ ventures and worked with 760 volunteers.

  • Working with the Young Foundation we delivered the 3rd iteration of the Inclusive Economies Partnership (Boost), involving additional delivery partners of EY, UBS, and the Cabinet Office.  The aim was to scale the impact of ventures working with large organisations focusing on delivering better work, tackling financial, Edtech and digital exclusion, and delivering a healthier society.  Across 2022 108 opportunities were created from mentoring, skills development and investment.

  • Working at the University of Nottingham Steve founded and scaled what is one of the UK’s largest social and environmental innovation events. The aim was to provide scale and opportunity to individuals developing impact-focused start-ups using universities as a local catalyst for development and ongoing support.  A partnership of over 60 innovative education, corporate, public and third-sector organisations was built. Ingenuity created over 300 businesses going on to raise over £186m in investment.
